Carlos was born in El Salvador and began studying economics at the University of San Salvador. As a member of the National Company of Dance, he toured the United States, Latin America and Spain, where he received a scholarship and subsequently obtained a degree in dance from the Aera Spai de Dansa school in Barcelona and a master's degree as an interpreter of dance in Girona with the ‘Seeds’ training programme from the CobosMika formation. Carlos has worked with many choreographers from various Spanish, European and Russian companies and founded his own company in Barcelona called ‘+DanceProject’. In 2014, he launched the +Danza festival as artistic director and brings artists from Europe to El Salvador every year. As a choreographer, he won the ‘International Jazz Festival’ (Barcelona, Spain) in 2016, 2018 and 2019. In 2017, he won the competition in Sant Boi, Spain, and Tanzolymp in Berlin, Germany (2020). Most recently, he won two prizes at the Grand Prix of Choreographers in Cuba, for best choreography and special mention for best duo in 2021. In 2016, he became the official choreographer of the Barcelona City Ballet Company and in 2021 he was named Talent Ambassador of El Salvador for his work in cultural exchange between El Salvador and Europe.
